Coming Dec. 13...
Gallery Players presents its Children's Holiday Show, Joseph and Koza, Dec. 13-21, in the Roth-Resler Theater. The production is being directed by Laurie Alexander.
Performances are scheduled for:
Saturdays, Dec. 13, 20 @ 7:30 p.m.
Sundays, Dec. 14, 21 @ 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 18 @ 7:30 p.m.
Adapted by Sean Hartley, and based on a short story by Isaac Bashevis Singer, Joseph and Koza takes place in the wild and superstitious kingdom of Mazovia in ancient Poland. Like other royal maidens, Princess Koza
faces danger - she's to be sacrificed to a river demon - but her rescuer isn't the usual sort. Instead of a Prince Charming, he's a nice young Jewish
goldsmith. Joseph, the goldsmith, wanders into Mazovia, whose backward inhabitants fear Zla, an evit witch. When she chooses Koza for the sacrifice,
even the king, Wilk, feels powerless. But Joseph convinces him and the rest of the townspeople that they are in control of their own demons, if only
they will believe in themselves.
Tickets are $12 for JCC members, $18 for nonmembers, $10 for senior members, $16 for senior nonmembers,
$8 for children or students, and $10 per ticket for groups of 10 or more. To purchase tickets or for more information
